Queeny Barn

Queeny Barn
This is Friday midday, June 12. This is the beginning of summer heat and humidity. I'll have to get used to it. It becomes bearable once we get out of the sun and off of pavement. Diane is with me, knitting.
I'm trying to use strong color in the center of focus, and weaker color surrounding. It is easier said than done.
The more often I paint, the less the rejects hurt.
This is my first painting on the left-over Arches 300 lb. paper from my first attempt at watercolor in the mid-eighties!  I have been afraid to waste heavy, expensive paper!
But it surely cost far less in the eighties!
For encouragement to paint regularly, I follow Roos Schuring, an oil plein air artist in the Netherlands.
